Reading and Spelling Therapy

All classes are taught by Jennifer Needham, using the Sonday System's structured, sequential,
multisensory, Orton-Gillingham approach. It is designed to help struggling readers catch up on their
basic reading skills, develop self-confidence and overcome reading difficulties. It can also serve for
beginning readers and home school education support. Teaching sessions are action oriented with
auditory, visual and kinesthetic elements reinforcing each other for optimal learning. Spelling is
learned simultaneously with reading. Students learn "how" to learn and to apply the skills to reading
and writing. In every lesson, the student experiences a high degree of success and gains confidence.
Learning becomes a rewarding and happy experience.

The Sonday System™ meets the standards for effective reading instruction established by the
National Institute of Health and the federally funded report of the National Reading Panel. It also
meets the guidelines for No Child Left Behind.

Program Includes:
Teaching with the Heart of the Child in Mind

In addition to providing the necessary instruction techniques crucial for learning to read,
Jennifer's goal is to help children to regain their confidence and self-esteem.
